MY STORY

I grew up spending a lot of time in my grandmother’s flower shop. I watched how hard they worked and the long hours they put in, and for a long time I was certain of one thing—I never wanted to work in a flower shop.Life, of course, had other plans. When I became a mother at 20 years old, I realized that working in the flower shop would allow me to bring my babies with me. That changed everything. What started as a practical decision quickly turned into a passion, and before long, I discovered that I was pretty dang good at floral design.Over the years, I’ve worked in several florist shops throughout Monroe, Madison, and Covington, including a five-year position at The Ritz-Carlton at Lake Oconee. Each experience sharpened my skills and deepened my love for the craft. In 2024, I felt the itch again—the desire to do things my way. I dreamed of opening a store that had it all: unique products, a variety of styles, and a creative space where others could thrive too. That’s when the idea of adding vendor booths came to life, giving fellow makers and creatives a place to share their work.People often ask about the name of the store and how I chose it. The truth is, I can be a little prickly at times—especially when I don’t get my way. A thistle is often thought of as a weed, but it’s also one of the most unique and beautiful flowers there is. That felt like the perfect fit.Above all, I’m a proud mom to three amazing sons—Austin, Colton, and Asa—who inspire me every day.
